Turmeric plants grow lush and wild around the forest / former garden. Estimated to come from twinkle at an altitude of 1300-1600 m above sea level, have also said that turmeric comes from India. Curcuma words derived from Arabic and Greek Kurkum Karkom. In the year 77-78 BC, Dioscorides called this plant as Cyperus resembling ginger, but bitter, chocolate, and a little spicy, but not toxic.

This plant is widely cultivated in South Asia especially in India, South China, Taiwan, Indonesia (Java), and the Philippines (Ministry of Research and Technology, 2003). Turmeric plants grow to the height of 40-100 cm fork. Is the pseudo-stem trunks, upright, rounded, forming a rhizome with yellowish green color and is composed of leaf midrib (slightly soft). Single leaf, oval shape (oblong) extends up to 10-40 cm, a width of 8 to 12.5 cm and pertulangan pinnate with a pale green color.

Flowering-haired and scaly compound of pseudo-stem shoots, 10-15 cm long with a crown of about 3 cm and 1.5 cm wide, white / yellowish. Tapered leaf tip and base, the flat edge of the leaf. Outer skin rhizome brownish orange, red fruit flesh yellowish orange (Ministry of Research and Technology, 2003).

Contents

Turmeric contains medicinal compounds, called curcuminoid consisting of curcumin, desmetoksikumin and bisdesmetoksikurkumin and substances other benefits. Substance Ingredients: Curcumin: R1 = R2 = OCH3 10% Demetoksikurkumin: R1 = OCH3, R2 = H 1-5% Bisdemetoksikurkumin: R1 = R2 = H rest Essential oils / volatile oil (sesquiterpene ketones, turmeron, tumeon 60%, 25 Zingiberen %, felandren, sabinen, borneol and sineil) Fat 1 -3%, 3% Carbohydrate, Protein 30%, 8% starch, 45-55% Vitamin C, mineral salts (iron, phosphorus, and calcium) remaining. So 1 gram of saffron contains 50 grams of curcumin (Wikipedia, 2005).

In a study by scientists from the University of Arizona, they recovered a key ingredient turmeric contains a protein called NF-kappa B that controls the activity of compounds that cause inflammation of the joints section (Funk, 2006).

Benefit

In Java, turmeric is widely used as medicinal herbs for soothing nutritious, clean, dry, eliminating the itching, and tingling heal. The main benefits of turmeric plants, namely: as an ingredient of traditional medicine, industrial raw materials and cosmetic herbs, spices materials, livestock, etc.. Besides the plant turmeric rhizome is also useful as anti-inflammatory, anti oxidant, anti-microbial, cancer prevention, anti-tumor, and lower levels of blood fats and cholesterol, as well as a blood purifier (Ministry of Research and Technology, 2005).

Turmeric leaves can be used as an ulcer drug because it has properties as an antiseptic and antibacterial. Turmeric rhizome is used as an external medicine to treat eczema, swelling and arthritis, swelling due to insect bites or hives because of caterpillars. It can also be used to facilitate breast milk. As the drugs in, turmeric is used to treat various health problems, such as the heat in, fever, diarrhea, shortness of breath, swollen gums, diabetes, bladder stones, hepatitis, and to clean the uterus both in women who are postpartum and after getting your period (Triani, 2007).

In the saffron-containing NF-kappa B, which is now being targeted in a number of drugs that will be used for the inhibition of inflammation due to OA (Funk, 2006). Several studies in vitro and in vivo show, turmeric memunyai as anti-inflammatory activity (antiinflammatory), activity against peptic ulcer disease, antitoksik, antihiperlipidemia, and anticancer activity (Triani, 2007).

One important reason for the significance of the thoracolumbar junction is that there are sudden changes in the structure of the joints that occurs in the territory of a single vertebra (T12): while the articular processes above this point is of the thoracic spine, those below it has the shape and mechanical features of bone lumbar back. During walking in place, the thoracolumbar junction acts as a fixed point, where the scoliosis of the lumbar spine to one side to the change of scoliosis of the thoracic spine to the opposite side.

Anatomist’s view ‘that the trunk rotation occurs mainly in the thoracolumbar junction was denied by Singer & Giles (1990). They demonstrated directly through the CT during the rotation of shaft rotation that occurs in this segment is almost no greater than that in neighboring segments of thoracic and lumbar motion. We confirmed these findings using trunk rotation AP film taken in a sitting position with the pelvis fixed. We show that scoliosis with rotation occurs in the whole lumbar spine.

Another transition region dysfunction is a common site to the T3/T4 cervicothoracic junction, this is where the movement of the head and neck end, as is most clearly seen in the ante-and retroflexion. The same goes for sidebending and rotation, although it is clear only in an upright position. One possible reason for the frequency of dysfunction in this region may be that it is a transition point between the most mobile part of the spine and the most mobile. Another is that this is the site where strong muscles and tendons of the upper limbs have their origin.

Middle thoracic spine is an important transition area, because this is where the muscle erector spinae cervix ends and the lumbar muscle begins. Around T5, therefore, the peak of the curvature of the thoracic spine, is the weakest point of the back muscles.

All areas rich transition anomaly. There may be rudimentary rib cage on the T12 or L1 lumbar; C7 cervical ribs or enlarged transverse process at C7 is fairly common. This rarely happens, on the other hand, for the first rib in the T1 to be absent. Uncinate process of the C7 sometimes may not exist on one or both sides.

Learning to avoid plastics that contain Bisphenol A or BPA seems like a daunting task. By taking a few seconds to read labels and find out what recycling codes that have been labeled on it can make all the difference.

Why is BPA bad?
Bisphenol A is an endocrine inhibitor.
Ok let’s break this down a little further, in layman’s terms, it disrupts the process of the endocrine system.

Is the Endocrine System?
The endocrine system is a series of glands and organs that produce hormones that control your body’s vital functions.

Just to name a few glands and organs associated with endocrine function is:

Thyroid

Stomach

Liver

Pancreas

Kidney

Leather

Heart

Bone marrow

Testicle

Uterus

Each major function of the human body bound to the endocrine system.
You will not be surprised when I tell you that BPA contamination has been associated with diabetes that affects the pancreas that

If this information can be alarming and frightening this piss out of you?
Of course!
Food and Drug Administration has been your focus and worry about how many calories and grams of fat in the item rather than raw materials and secondary contamination. Now you know a little more about BPA toxic let’s discuss the types of plastics are produced.

There are 7 types are used in describing the type of plastic, the numbers 1-7.

Type 1
PET (Polyethylene Terephthalate)
Used to create a single use container for general goods such as soda bottles, disposable bottles of water, electrolyte replacement drinks, jars of food and cosmetic containers.

Type 2
HDPE (high density polyethylene)
HDPE is used to make common items that are widely used as grocery bags, milk and juice containers.

Type 3
PVC (Polyvinyl chloride)
PVC is used to make items such as Garden Hoses, Rain Jacket, window frames, wrapping meat, and water pipes.

Type 4
LDPE (Low Density Polyethylene)
You will find these products will be used to package bread, heavy duty bags, plastic bottles and food wrap squeezable.

Type 5
PP (Polypropylene)
Medicine bottles, cereal liners, straws and bags of chips commonly used with the PP.

Type 6
PS (Polystyrene)
They use this world wide and you find it all the time on the side of the road as a foam food containers, egg cartons, and plastic cutlery. It is simply not go away and not ‘recycled.

Type 7
Other PC (Polycarbonate)
This is a group where they mention things that they do not have a category for but common items Baby bottles, water coolers, car parts, etc.
